Deuteronomy 5:29 - O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
Notice: God's desire for us keeping His commandments is for it to be well with us.
Lesson outline in Deuteronomy 6:1-9
God's Word: Hear It, Obey It, Know It, Teach It
Deuteronomy 6:2 - Cross reference I Chronicles 10:13-14
Deuteronomy 6:3 - Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it....
Hear and do - James 1:22.
Deuteronomy 6:7 - And thou shalt teach them diligently....
Cross refs: Joshua 1:8; Psalm 119:97. Much of this repeated again / reworded in Deuteronomy 11:18 and following.
Deuteronomy 8:5 - Thou shalt consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.
Important cross ref: Hebrews 12:5-6. See also II Samuel 7:14; Psalm 89:32; Proverbs 3:12; Revelation 3:19.
Deuteronomy 12:32 - See cross refs at Deuteronomy 4:2 (above).
Deuteronomy 21:18-21 - The rebellious son is stoned to death to "put evil away from among you." The New Testament principle to put evil away from among us is, "from such turn away," II Timothy 3:1-5.
Deuteronomy 22:6 - the "dam" is the mother hen.
Deuteronomy chapter 28 note: There are 14 verses of blessings, and 53 verses of cursings, for keeping or ignoring God's Law. Truly the Law was "a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear," Acts 15:10. See Galatians 3:10; Galatians 3:13.
Deuteronomy 30:11-14 - For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
NOTE: God's word was not given in secret, or given just so that it might be unknown or lost later. It is settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89), YES, and on earth as well, to every generation (Psalm 100:5).
Deuteronomy 32:5 - ...they are a perverse and crooked generation.
Cross refs: Matthew 17:17; Luke 9:41; Philippians 2:15.
Deuteronomy 32:17 - They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
UNTO DEVILS - Behind every idol and false god there is a demon. Leviticus 17:7; II Chronicles 11:15; Psalm 106:37; I Corinthians 10:19-21; Revelation 9:20.
Deuteronomy 32:39 - See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me....
Contradicts Jehovah's Witness Bible at John 1:1-2, "the word was with God and the word was a god." Jesus is God!
