Note at Genesis 35:4 - These earrings were probably amulets or charms or connected to idolatry. Perhaps taken from the slain of Shechem, or worn by the captives, Genesis 34:27-29. Earrings not always connected to paganism, Genesis 24:47, Job 42:11, etc.
