Notes on the Tower of Babel

Genesis 11:4 - And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

Humanistic, man-centered approach to government:  (1) Reliance on humanity, rather than on God, "let us build."  (2) Pride and faith in human achievements, "let us make us a name."  (3) Disobedience to God's commands (in this case to overspread the earth, "lest we be scattered").  Government hasn't changed much.
