Notes in Genesis Chapter Nineteen

Genesis 19:1 - "...and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom."

Lot's decline: Genesis 13:12; Genesis 14:12; Genesis 19:1.

Genesis 19:14 - "And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters..."

By contrast, Genesis 24:1-9, Abraham unwilling to marry off Isaac to the pagan peoples of the land of Canaan: "Thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell."

Genesis 19:26 - But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
